The Story Behind Together Art

Hello, Art Explorers!

I’m Yeon, the creator of Together Art and a mom to two wonderful daughters. Today, I’d love to share the journey that led me to create this special space for creativity, connection, and a little sprinkle of magic.

I grew up in Korea, where my love for art began as a child. I still remember the excitement of going to art class, where my imagination could run wild. That love only deepened as I attended an arts-focused middle and high school in Seoul, studying Western painting. Art wasn’t just a hobby—it was a joyful escape and a way to dream.

Later, life took me on a colorful adventure to San Francisco, where I studied fashion design. After graduating, I moved to New York to work as a jewelry designer. Sitting at my desk, sketching designs, and bringing them to life by hand reminded me why I loved creating so much—it felt like magic.

Then came the biggest adventure of all: starting a family. As a mom to two curious and creative daughters, I found myself constantly searching for ways to inspire their imaginations. During the pandemic, I realized how quickly they lost interest in simple sticker or coloring activities. It hit me—they needed something more meaningful, something that challenged their creativity and encouraged them to tell their own stories.

And so, Together Art was born! With themes like desserts, mermaids, and princesses, I began creating art boxes that combined storytelling, creativity, and fun. My daughters were my biggest supporters and even my collaborators! My eldest came up with Sparkles the unicorn, and my youngest introduced Nibbles the chipmunk. These adorable characters became a magical part of our art boxes, adding even more joy to the process.

My dream for Together Art is simple: I want every child who opens one of our art boxes to feel inspired to create, imagine, and share their joy with the world. Through art, I hope to nurture their creativity and build connections that will last a lifetime.
